Help support the safety and compliance of Wellington's commercial buildings. We are looking for a Building Warrant of Fitness (BWoF) Audit Officer to join our Building Compliance team and contribute to safer, well-maintained buildings across Pōneke.

Ngā Taipitopito Tūranga - Role details

In this role, you'll support the safety and compliance of Wellington's commercial building stock by carrying out BWoF audits in line with statutory requirements.

  • Visiting commercial buildings across Wellington.
  • Carrying out BWoF audits and recording your findings.
  • Checking whether specified systems, such as smoke control systems, fire alarms and emergency exits, are being inspected and maintained.
  • Engaging with building owners, independent qualified persons and internal teams.
  • Supporting practical compliance outcomes that help keep people safe.

You don't need to be a BWoF specialist on day one. You'll be supported to build your technical knowledge of BWoF requirements, Council processes and the practical application of the Building Act 2004.
