Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa (TRONA) is the governing body of Ngāti Awa responsible for managing the collective affairs for over 22,000 registered members. TRONA is the sole shareholder Ngāti Awa Group Holdings Limited (NAGHL), it’s commercial investment company. We are seeking Expressions of Interest to appoint a Director to NAGHL. The position has become available due to compulsory retirement by rotation. Directors typically serve a term of three years before compulsory resignation by rotation.
Reappointment may be sought.
Ngāti Awa Group Holdings Limited kaupapa is to grow the iwi commercial assets in a prudent manner to ensure an agreed return on investment. We have a diversified investment portfolio that includes tourism, horticulture, farming, fisheries, forestry, equities and property. We are seeking to appoint a Director with vast commercial and investment experience.

The following are considered key attributes for NAGHL Directors:
• Demonstrated experience in developing and driving innovative investment strategies for an iwi, Māori and /or wahine Māori owned commercial entity;
• Understanding of the importance, value and potential of integrating tīkanga Māori and iwi commercial activity
• Significant governance experience on relevant investment and commercial boards
• Proven investment success that has generated strong financial returns.
• An ability to leverage strong investment and business relationships for the benefit of Ngāti Awa
• High ethical standards
