Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand (REANNZ) is entering an exciting phase of growth, strengthening its role at the centre of Aotearoa’s research, education, and innovation ecosystem. As a Crown-owned membership organisation, it connects universities, research organisations, museums, libraries, and government agencies through digital infrastructure that enables collaboration, discovery, and impact.
As REANNZ continues to evolve, strong financial stewardship, effective governance, and fit-for-purpose corporate capability will be critical to supporting the organisation’s ambitions and delivering value for its members.
We are seeking a Chief Corporate Financial Officer (CCFO) to join REANNZ’s Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping the organisation’s next chapter. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board, and wider leadership team, this role will provide strategic financial leadership while overseeing the corporate functions that support REANNZ’s continued success.
What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic financial advice to the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team, Board, and Audit & Risk Committee
- Lead REANNZ’s financial strategy, ensuring strong financial management, reporting, and long-term sustainability
- Lead REANNZ’s corporate capability, providing oversight across finance, people and culture, procurement, business performance, governance, reporting, technology, and cyber security to support effective operations and delivery of strategic priorities
- Strengthen organisational capability through effective systems, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support effective governance, risk management, compliance, and performance reporting across the organisation
- Build trusted relationships with members, government stakeholders, auditors, service providers, and sector partners
- Partner with leaders across REANNZ to support sound decision-making and enable delivery of strategic priorities
What You’ll Bring
- Senior leadership experience in finance and corporate services within complex organisations
- Strong financial management capability, with experience providing advice at executive, Board, or governance level
- Experience operating in environments requiring high levels of accountability, transparency, and sound governance
- CA qualification
- The ability to translate financial insight into practical business decisions and organisational outcomes
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to build capability and support high-performing teams
The successful candidate will bring a balance of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and strong judgement, with the ability to contribute to an organisation where finance and corporate capability directly support national impact.
