He angitūtanga: About the Role:

We’re on the lookout for passionate kaimahi with expertise in providing property management services to a portfolio of trusts to join our Rotorua team. In this role, you’ll deliver exceptional property management services across a diverse and meaningful portfolio. Whether you’re an experienced property specialist or an advisor eager to grow your skills, this is your chance to make a real impact in managing whenua and property-related assets.

This role requires some travel and occasional weekend work.

The main responsibilities across our property team includes:

  • Managing and maintaining a portfolio of leases, ensuring compliance and high standards of service delivery.
  • Undertaking property inspections, rent reviews, advertising, negotiations, breach management, and reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of leases, including market rates for commercial and rural properties regionally and nationally.
  • Building and fostering strong relationships with tenants, trusts, and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitating site access and working collaboratively with team members to ensure property assets are well maintained.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on lease-related matters.
  • Contributing to reducing lease vacancies and improving portfolio performance.

He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in property management, rural property management, or a related property role within a medium to large organisation.
  • A friendly and approachable nature, with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Confidence in navigating multiple systems and being technically savvy.
  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in Property or Asset Management would be highly regarded, as would experience in the rural sector.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.

  • Pae Tahi- Te Whakahua | A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Māori (essential)
  • Pae Rua- Te Whakarongo | An ability to understand Te Reo Māori, a desire and ability to practice correct pronunciation of Te Reo Māori (desired).

Ngā Pae Mōhiotanga Tikanga Māori

  • Pae Tahi- Nō Ia Rā | An understanding and living of Tikanga Māori on a day-to-day level, for example, the removing of shoes before entering a whare, washing hands at the urupa and not sitting on tables (essential)
  • Pae Rua- Te Noho Marae | An understanding and living of Tikanga Māori on a noho marae level. Knowing and practising things such as basic karakia, waiata and one’s own pepehā (desired)
