Tupu Tonu is a Crown-owned company established to build and grow an intergenerational portfolio of high-performing commercial assets that may be offered by the Crown in historical Tiriti o Waitangi negotiations with Ngāpuhi.

He aha te tūranga - About the role

As Kaiāwhina Whakahaere me te Pūtea, you will play an important role in supporting both the corporate operations and finance functions of the organisation. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of an organisation.

As Kaiāwhina Whakahaere me te Pūtea, you will provide essential support across office coordination, corporate administration, finance processing, and systems support (Dext and Xero). Working closely with both the Operations Manager and Finance Manager, you will help ensure that organisational operations run smoothly while maintaining accurate and timely financial records.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable managing both administrative coordination and finance-related tasks.

The role also contributes to maintaining organisational compliance and operational standards. This includes supporting policy processes, assisting with health and safety practices, maintaining documentation, and helping identify opportunities to improve internal administrative and financial systems.

Ngā pūkenga, ngā tohu ōu - What you will bring

You will bring experience in administration, finance administration, bookkeeping, or a similar role where accuracy and organisation are essential. Confidence working with systems such as Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, and Microsoft Office is important, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail.

You will also be someone who works well independently while contributing positively to a small team environment. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to supporting others will help you succeed in this role.

A commitment to culturally grounded, values-based mahi is important, along with familiarity with te ao Māori and tikanga, or a willingness to continue developing your understanding.

  • Experience in administration, finance administration, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
  • Confidence using systems such as Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, reliable, and self-managing approach to work.
