MUMA (Manukau Urban Maori Authority), a well-established kaupapa Māori organisation based in Manukau is hiring a senior CFO. This is a rare opportunity to step into a role with direct influence across strategy, governance, and organisational sustainability.

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the finance function, oversee financial performance, and support executive and Board-level decision-making.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading financial strategy, performance, and sustainability
  • Delivering accurate monthly reporting to the CEO and governance groups
  • Leading annual budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning
  • Ensuring strong financial governance, compliance, and internal controls
  • Overseeing audit, statutory reporting, and external financial relationships
  • Managing funding and contract financial reporting
  • Leading and developing the finance team
  • Attending and contributing to Finance & Risk Committee meetings
  • Supporting Board strategy discussions as required

ABOUT YOU

You will bring:

  • Senior finance leadership experience (CFO, Head of Finance, Finance Manager or similar)
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, audit, and governance
  • Proven ability to lead a finance team and improve systems and processes
  • Confidence in presenting financial information to executive and Board audiences
  • High integrity, sound judgement, and strong relationship skill
  • Experience in the NGO, health, social services, or kaupapa Māori sector is preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent preferred
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or business
