Kia mahi ngātahi mō Pōneke mō tōna āpōpō - Working together for Wellington's future

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for supporting efficient building consent processes? We're looking for a proactive and organised BCC Administration Officer to join our Building Consenting and Compliance (BCC) team for a 12-month fixed-term opportunity.

As a BCC Administration Officer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our building consent and compliance services. You'll provide high-quality administrative support, manage documentation, coordinate inspections, and liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of consents and certificates.

In this role, you'll review and approve building consent documentation for issuing Code Compliance Certificates (CCC), manage suspended consents and outstanding fees, and perform fee reconciliations for major projects. You'll coordinate pre-application meetings and inspection calendars, and liaise with engineers, customers, and council officers to ensure compliance and excellent service delivery. You'll also manage consent applications and correspondence for Auckland and the Chatham Islands.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong administrative skills and attention to detail, experience in document management and customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with building consent processes is an advantage, but a willingness to learn is just as important. Excellent communication, organisational skills, and competency with IT systems will help you thrive.
