Executive Assistant to our Chief Executive:
We are excited about offering a new opportunity to an astute EA to support our Chief Executive Matt Prosser.
Matt brings credible international experience, commitment to service and a desire to revitalise Wellington, underpinned by decades of leading in local government. Matt is a personable leader who is knowledgeable, interested in facts and data. He possesses an inquisitive open-minded style, is trusting and authentic.
Because of the sort of person Matt is, you will easily build a trusting relationship with him enabling you to anticipate his needs, as you will be aligned in thinking and in tune. Matt will empower you to be the best you can be, enabling you to take initiative, it doesn't get much better, as we recognise an EA/Leader relationship is key critical and important for you both.
Āu ake mahi - What you'll do
Now about the role, you will sit open plan with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and their other EA's - it's not intimidating, they are such a welcoming group of passionate people - totally approachable. You will love the pace and the fact that you will be truly made to feel part of the 'one team' both ELT and Matt have.
The role itself is filled with variety, there is the comprehensive executive support component to enable Matt to operate at maximum effectiveness, managing his calendar, emails, general correspondence, but there are also many other exciting aspects encompassing:
- Attending ELT leadership meetings to take minutes
- Mentoring and guiding our professional cohort of EAs to ensure a consistent level of support is offered to all of ELT
- Identifying opportunities for improvement
- Event coordination
- Financial admin, risk management and much more
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Are an astute, professional EA with the ability to quickly grasp complex information and extract key insights
- Are proactive, possessing a solutions‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership
- Possess sound judgement and discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential matters
- Are able to plan, manage workflows, and keep the CEO focused on strategic outcomes
- Have strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across documentation, scheduling, and correspondence
- Have the capacity to work at pace while remaining calm and composed
- You will demonstrate experience providing EA support to an executive leader within a large, multi-disciplinary organisation and possess credibility managing cross sectional relationships
Your Kaiwhakahaere:
On a day-to-day basis you will report into our Chief of Staff, an astute professional leader who has recently been appointed. The two of you will be able to form and storm together to ensure the office of the Chief Executive is humming!
