About the Role:
The primary function of the Office & Events Manager is to provide administrative and event management support to the Tumu Whakarae (TW) the Rūnanga, and Te Tai Hono (Māori Leadership Team)
What will your responsibilities be:
- To provide personal assistant services to the Tumu Whakarae (TW)
- To provide high-level administrative support to the Rūnanga and the wider Tai Hono Leadership Team (TTH) i.e.oversight of travel bookings and departmental financial accounts
- Oversight of Tumu Whakarae and Te Tai Hono (Formerly Māori Ministries leadership team) (Receipt Accountable responsibilities)
- Event support on behalf of te Tumu Whakarae and Te Tai Hono
- Ensure communication is translated accurately in emails and various other communications internally and externally.
- Advise on and communicate with iwi, Hapū, and other groups where tikanga is used to ensure protocols are respected and followed.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to prioritise work-flow appropriately
- Ability to speak write and listen to Te Reo Māori
- Knowledge of tikanga
- Timely communication and logistics management
- A strong commitment to delivering excellent Manaakitanga and building healthy working relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to communicate and build a sense of whanaungatanga with external partners
- Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading and writing abilities are essential, as is an eye for detail evidenced in accuracy and style consistency
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality.

This role is permanent/part-time and hours worked will be 25 per week.
The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $40 and $45
