At Te Rūnanga o Waihao, we're boldly reimagining how we serve our people and our place. Following a purposeful review of our governance and operations, we're rebuilding with intention - strengthening our foundations so that mana whenua leadership, kaupapa Māori values, and intergenerational wellbeing are at the heart of all we do.
We are setting a new course. One grounded in rakatirataka, sustained by tikanga, and powered by whakapapa. We are enabling place-based strategies and long-term solutions that uplift our rūnanga, hapū and whānau - now and into the future.
We are now seeking three exceptional individuals to join our small but mighty team, including the role of Manahautū - General Manager - the engine room of our operations; a courageous leader who can bring vision to life and deliver tangible results for our people. You will lead with humility and strength, ensuring our kaupapa moves forward with purpose. Based full-time in Waimate, you'll hold the relationships, shape the strategy, and keep our waka moving.
Who we're looking for:
- Values-led and outcomes-driven
- Proven experience in strategic leadership and management roles
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with whānau and external stakeholders
- Business acumen and experience in managing organisational operations to drive and implement the strategic goals and priorities of Waihao
- Someone skilled in managing the daily operational business through policies, procedures and compliance to enhance the delivery of Waihao' s strategies and procedures
- Support the operations of both the Inc Soc and Holdings Boards
- Oversee the daily operations of the organisation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Champion mana whenua leadership and Māori aspirations
- Deliver on what they say - with integrity and care
- Have experience building relationships, partnerships, and trust
- Are inspired by legacy, whenua, and kaupapa
