The TEC - Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua is a small Crown agency with a big job to do - ensuring New Zealanders have the skills and the knowledge they need to ensure lifelong success to build a great country. We lead the Government's relationship with the tertiary education sector in New Zealand and provide career services from education to employment.
The purpose of this role is the development and support of TEC's core data collection systems. The role involves developing software iteratively with the Business Owner, Product Owner, and various business and technical teams across TEC.
We are currently recruiting for an intermediate-level Developer with 3+ years of software development skills.
Mōhiohio: Information Directorate
The Information Directorate delivers the ICT infrastructure and information tools to support the business and develops data, data products, information, and new tools for colleagues, customers, TEOs, and other agencies to support TEC's invest and champion goals.
He angitūtanga: About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader - Data Collection Systems this role will be responsible for developing software iteratively with the Business Owner, Product Owner, and various business and technical teams across TEC.
- Working within an agile environment to develop TEC's core data collection systems
- Maintain and support the core data collection systems and make enhancements according to project specifications
- Working with the business and product owners to understand new functionality and bringing good analytical and problem-solving abilities to the table
- Applying enterprise architecture standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes
- Code reviews as part of the software development lifecycle
- Providing good written and oral communications skills including the ability to speak, write and explain technical information to non-technical people

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has some solid experience as an intermediate-level Developer looking to continue to developer their skills. You will bring the following:
Technical skills - minimum of 3 years' experience for this position
- Solid experience in .Net Core / ASP.NET Core
- Solid experience JavaScript / Angular
- REST API principles & patterns
- Experience or understanding of Azure platforms
- Solid experience T-SQL
- Solid experience DevOps (CI/CD)
- Experience in cloud computing infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Cloud PaaS services, especially Azure

The salary range for this position is $87,997 to $103,526 + 3% KiwiSaver which is negotiable depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
