Starting salary: $59,846 - $69,368 + superannuation

The role | Te tūnga
This permanent role is based in Christchurch. Reporting to the Service Desk Team Leader, you will be part of a wider Technology Services Operations. Your Focus will be to providing high quality, effective customer service to our internal Stats NZ staff and working closely with our vendor partners. You will be the first point of contact for IT related inquiries within our organisation and provide comprehensive support for all logged tickets, whether reported via email, portal, phone, or face-to-face interactions.

We are looking for a passionate, customer-focused Service Desk Consultant to provide Level 1 support. Your responsibilities will include responding to and resolving incidents and service requests, as well as addressing hardware and software faults related to end-user devices.
Key Requirements:
- Customer services focused and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Minimum 1+ years' experience in Service Desk roles
- Proficiency in IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and software
- Knowledge of incident, problem, and asset management
- Familiarity with knowledge management and ITIL practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and patience when dealing with users' issues
- Analytical thinking to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience working in a collaborative environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in logging and tracking incidents
- Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and processes
- Willingness to continuously learn and improve skills
