Deepsea Fishers
NZ Fishing - Keep It K-Iwi
NZ Fishing : Keep It K-Iwi is committed to the partnership of the Treaty of Waitangi where those born in this country are the Kiwi and the Iwi = the K-Iwi and together we will make it work.
NZ Fishing : Keep It K-Iwi is committed to retaining, expanding and maintaining skill in the art of deepsea fishing to ensure succession of the activity now and for future generations.
NZ Fishing : Keep It K-Iwi has particular interest in developing the skills of Maori so as to give better effect to the Maori Fisheries Act 2004 and promote success in "the business and ACTIVITY of fishing."
At January 2010, with approval of the Department of Labour, the Department of Immigration issued 2080 visas for foreign fishers to work in NZ waters and they will catch 250,000 metric tonnes of NZ fish by 1st October 2010. Our intention is to replace foreign fishers with K-Iwi fishers.
