Would you like to be part of the team working to accelerate the public visibility of the Maori language as a cultural treasure? This is a 6 month opportunity to celebrate and create connections with the rich Maori heritage of Tamaki Makaurau.

Working within the wider team, you will be charged with moving forward the reclamation of new Maori names across Tamaki Makaurau.  You will be responsible for liaising between regional government, local government, and mana whenua - so familiarity working in the political arena is essential.

The successful candidate will be

  • Proficient in Te Reo
  • An experienced project manager or coordinator, focusing on community projects with an emphasis on governance and reporting
  • Able to navigate and adapt between multiple stakeholders
  • Passionate about Auckland, it’s heritage and stories
  • Have an appreciation of Maori values, and a working knowledge of tikanga Maori.

Our client is committed to working in partnership with the Mana Whenua and working towards a bilingual organisation. They are based in the CBD and provide a flexible working environment with an option for part-time hours.
